Sunday School Craft - Adam and Eve with Fig Leaves

We just started a new curriculum at church for the little kids, so I had to start over with my crafts! This one is for Adam and Eve. I found this template by Googling "Adam and Eve craft," and then modifying the size and adding a verse to the top. This one was about how Adam and Eve didn't notice they were naked until they ate the forbidden fruit and then covered themselves in fig leaves.

Whenever I have to make a craft, I always have to keep in mind that the kids I make these for are 2-4 years old, so they can't use scissors yet. If your kids are older, you could have them cut out Adam and Eve like paper dolls before gluing on the fig leaves. It's up to you.

I think this craft is super self-explanatory...but in case you need a step-by-step, I have it below. I have also included my template at the end that you can copy.

First of all, I designed these crafts to be two to a page to save paper. I used cardstock.

I cut them in half.

I got some green tissue paper.

I folded it up length-wise till it was pretty thin and then cut down the middle.

Then, I cut the long strips into little "leafy" pieces.

Then, I covered ol' Adam with glue and grabbed some "leaves" and started sticking them on. They look better if you don't smash them flat on top of the glue, but only glue like...a third of each "leaf" down and let the other part stick up, so the craft can be more three-dimensional. You could also just grab a handful of leaves and stick them on all at once, let them dry, and then shake off the excess.

A side view so you can see the 3D-ness.

Then, I did the same to Eve, and I was done!

The template:

The End!
