Sunday School Craft - I Am a Child of the King! Cuff Bracelet

The little kids are learning about Jesus' teaching the multitudes about His Kindgom. So today, we are going to make this bracelet.

You need: (colored) paper (preferably cardstock, but plain is fine), decorating items (stickers/crayons/glitter/etc.), scissors, and a stapler

First, print out the template at the end and cut the bands apart.

Next, decorate the band.

Then loop it around. . .

. . .and staple it.

You're done!

Sunday School Craft - Daniel's Lion 2

Another Daniel's lion craft!

First, print out the template at the end of this post. (I compiled it from two lion pictures in a Google search.)

Next, fold the paper just under the top lip of the lion.

Then, fold that top lip down to meet the bottom lip.

Done!

From here, the kids can color the lion however they want. 

You can even cut the eyes out if you want to make a mask.

Sunday School Craft - Wise Men "Follow the Star" Crown

Okay. . .let's be honest here. . .

The MOST IMPORTANT reason for little kids to do crafts is so that adults can be equally as entertained.

This is one such craft!

You need: metallic bulletin board boarder strips (15pk at Dollar Tree), tree tinsel garland (10yds at Dollar Tree), star ornaments (6pk at Dollar Tree), pipe cleaners, paper, stapler, and a glue stick.

You can also improvise with whatever you can find. For instance, you don't need the garland. You could use construction paper to make the crown. And you could just cut out stars to hang. Anyways, this post should at least give you some ideas. The main thing is to make a crown and attach a star with a pipe cleaner for the child to "follow."

The first step is to cut the garland to the length of the boarder (This one is 18").

Then, cut out the verses in the template I've provided at the end of this post.

Then, staple the boarder onto the bottom of each boarder. (I used four staples per.)

Then, staple the pipe cleaner in two places from the back. (I also turned up the "tail" of the pipe cleaner to make sure it wouldn't pull out easily, but I didn't take a picture of that step.)

Next, glue the verse to the front of the crown.

Then, take a star ornament off the card and pull off the twisty-tie.

Insert the pipe cleaner through the top hole of the star. . .

And bend that tip down.

Final step: staple the back of the crown together in two places so it makes a hat!

My head is too big, but you get the idea. . .

Cute! Can you imagine a bunch of little kids running around with these on their heads at your church??? 

Adults will lose their ever-lovin' minds!

Sunday School Craft - Daniel in the Lion's Den Lion Paper Bag Puppet

I realized that most of my Sunday School crafts only work if you have a printer, so I decided to do one that you could do completely free-hand.

You will need: Paper lunch bags, orange and yellow tissue or construction paper, black marker, and crayons.

I did print out the verse and glue that at the bottom, but it's optional. If you want it, I have the template at the end.

First, I drew a lion face on the bag so that it's mouth was split at the fold as you can see below.

Then, I opened the folded part and drew an oval with teeth and a tongue.

Then, I took one sheet of yellow and orange tissue paper.

I folded them up.

Then, I cut them like this: In threes with the middle part twice as long as the outside pieces. (This is because the outside pieces are folded. This will make all three sections the same width.)

Then, I stacked the three sections and cut them into strips.

Then, I started gluing the pieces around the lion's head.

That's it! Now you can make the lion shut his mouth like the verse says!

Sunday School Craft - Queen Esther and King Ahasuerus (Xerxes) Crowns and Scepters

I was searching for a Queen Esther craft and didn't really like any that I saw, necessarily, so I drove to Dollar Tree to get some inspiration.

I found. . .

bulletin board borders (you may recognize from my last post):

Staplers with staples:

Shiny stickers, loose glitter, and glitter glue. (Or whatever you want to decorate...crayons, paint, whatever.) 

Two packs of straws (for boys and girls).

Starting with the "scepters," all you have to do is decorate the straw attachment thingie (don't know what it's called).

Then, decorate your crowns however you want. (I've included the verse template at the end of this post.)

Then, once the crowns are dry, staple them in the back.

I went through our craft cupboard at church and found some more stickers and embellishments.

At the last second, I found some sparkly pipe cleaners, so I wrapped that around the scepter (which is fitting since the verse talks about a "gold scepter." I'm such a purist.) If your kids are old enough, you can pair them up boy with girl and have them act out the verse.
