Sunday School Craft - New Year - "This is the year that the Lord has made" Party Stuff!

So if you are like me, you were planning all this stuff for Christmas and COMPLETELY FORGOT about New Years! So. . .here is a craft for the procrastinators and overly-busy!

First step, go to Dollar Tree and buy some party hats and blowouts.

Next, print out my template (at the end).

Then, glue the 2018 sign. . . 

And stick it to a hat!

Now, let your kids run around and be sure to give them a lot of sugar before you send them back with their parents! ;)

Turning a Prom Dress into a Maxi Skirt

I bought this dress at a Goodwill. It's 100% silk, so I couldn't pass it up! I got it home and the top of it was too tight and the bow on the back was OBNOXIOUS, so I decided to make it into a maxi skirt. If you want to do this project, all I added was a piece of medium weight stretchy jersey that was an inch or two smaller than my waist but could stretch over my hips. I didn't even add elastic!

Chanel Inspired: Flashdance Dress

It's not really Flashdance, but. . .you can wear it off the shoulder if you want. That's why I called it that.

Finally, I remembered to put the sleeve pattern on. Also, if you look closely at the front longer part, you can see that I raised the collar. I taped a piece of paper on instead of redrawing the entire thing.

On this one, I made the two parts as separates so they could be worn a variety of ways. I'm thinking this is going to be my "Go-To" dress for this reason. This pink jersey is kind of see-through, so I made it double-layered.

This dress could easily be worn to work. It doesn't have to be worn off the shoulder.
